All fine so the odd one out is the FPS1600. Tried the same records on other players and speakers.
Always seems like bits where it goes quieter and with bass. Was fine for a couple months then suddenly had volume spikes at certain bits of records. Still sounds amazing and don't want to spend money on a new speaker setup. What matters is the numbers (pinout) wich you can fund at the UPPER-LEFT corner of the page regarding FEMALE PS/2 CONNECTOR:EVEN SO HERE'S THE SHCEMATIC I've drawed for you guys.Recently got a record player and set it up with the Creative Cambridge Soundworks FPS1600, which is an almost two decade old Hi-Fi that my parents had. Cambridge Soundworks Fourpointsurround Fps1600 Drivers License It follows the link of a Pinouts website refering to a PS/2 Mouse - Ignore the funcions. SOLUTION FOR THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE THE REMOTE CONTROL (Volume etc control) FOR THE CAMBRIDGE FPS1600 SoundSystem:JUST SHOT-CIRCUIT PINS 3, 4, and 6 AT THE SUBWOOFER!IF THE IMAGES ONCE AGAIN 'DIE' AFTER SOME TIME READ THIS (with attention) and you'll be able to know what to do:These 3,4 and 6 numbers ARE NOT Arbitrary - the conector at the subwoofer is a PS/2 connector so the numbers are from one of those. I think that the solution is not the same - I've started this thread searching for the FPS 1600MY SOLUTION AFTER 'reading' the circuit (no.I couldn't find a shcematic) FOR THE FPS 1600 was to short circuit pins 3, 4, and 6 of the (female) conector at the subwoofer itself - (i'll place a picture)this allowed me not to control de volume (of course) but to have the amp working at full (perfect.because like that I only have to control the volume at the input like any computer MP3 etc etc doeshere's the pic.
Even so if you don't want to replace it I gave the ewuivalent schematic without it (having volume at 50% and balance at 50/50).but that's gonna be more troublesome than just replacing the potentiometer - it's only good for those that simply don't have the remote)For FPS1600 there's no need to have all this trouble it's just to cojnnect (short-circuit pins 3,4 and 6 as showned in image).
